100 Days

I’ve been writing about how much I have been enjoying Saturday night worship service. It is the perfect ending to my week and allows me to watch my favorite TV ministries on Sunday morning. Our Saturday service started in April, and I had been wondering how long we would keep it, knowing that it would be based on numbers. Last Saturday I think my pastor answered the question for me. He said he was talking to his son, and he said that he would like to give Saturday service a year and prayerfully our numbers would grow. I liked that he set a goal and that he was giving the service at least one year to grow. It made me think of another challenge that a friend of mine is sharing via social media. She is in a 100-day challenge for fitness, so she has committed to being physically active for the next 100 days. It’s early in the challenge, and she is already looking amazing! As soon as I saw her live and in person I told her I wanted to get on board as soon as school is out. I used to move like that—sometimes doing two workouts a day. I felt great, and I could see the results. Now I’m torn between TV, writing, and movement. But this amazing woman has inspired me to move more. In both of these cases, I like the idea of setting a schedule and a goal date. We really can do anything we set our minds to and then pray that what we are working towards will grow. The key is doing SOMETHING. I don’t know what you have planned for your future, but I hope you have planned SOMETHING. Then I hope you take the steps to reach your goals. Whether it’s for 100 days or for an entire year, get ready to amaze yourself by striving for your goals.
