When I Said No

Tomorrow is a big day for me, as I will be videotaped teaching a lesson for national training videos. Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? This blessing was almost null and void based on what I told God last year. I was feeling overwhelmed about writing and sharing, and I told God that I didn’t want to blog or write any more books. Even worse, I told Him He could keep all of the blessings that He had that were associated with the blogging or future books. Yep, I said that. Guilty as charged. Oh, don’t judge me because I’m sure you may have said something similar. I told God flat out that I wasn’t going to write or tell my story. Maybe you haven’t been that bold, but is there something God wants you to do that you haven’t done yet? You might not have said no, but actions speak louder than words because not doing what He asked is the same thing as saying no. On the same day that I uttered those words God snatched me up in a unique way. There was a woman who connected with me on Facebook, and I accepted her friend request because we had several mutual friends through dance fitness. The same day that I accepted her friend request (and the same day I told God He could keep my blessings), she and I parked beside each other at the gym and she introduced herself to me. Upon meeting me she told me that she had prayed and asked God to meet me. Say what? She wanted to meet me, and we connected on the same day?!! That’s God!!! He already knew that I would be sour and discouraged that day so He sent someone to remind me of why telling my story is important. Dear Readers, you read this blog because prayerfully there is something I’m saying that resonates with you. I write because my heart has so much to say and share. And what we have is a divine connection, for which I am grateful. You have the same or similar gift in you. Whatever God is leading you to do, do it. Someone right now is praying for an answer to a prayer, and you are that answer. Stop telling God no and be brave enough to say yes. I promise there are blessings attached to your yes!
