On Changing My Testimony

I always have book titles in my head, and the latest is “I Missed the Boat.” I have missed the boat on so many things over the past ten or so years. Boat went right by, and I had no idea. I remember getting a word from God about success found right in Joshua 1:8. I assumed that the promotion I got shortly thereafter was the success. It wasn’t until life hit harder than ever that I understood what type of success God meant. Better yet, let me say I think I understand. Early on I was guilty of thinking success was having things and having status. If I have a title and money in the bank, I have arrived. But when I sit down and have a conversation with my son, and I see and hear spiritual growth, that is success. When I talk to my spiritual and my fitness sisters about what is going on in our lives and we are speaking the same language, that is success. When the people around me are all talking about how to reach out to other people and how we can work together to do it?? Yes, Lord, I see You working! So I’m changing my testimony. Testimony service is no longer about “testiMONEY”. Testimony service is giving glory to God for what He is doing in the lives of people who are doing His work. That is true success.
