The Importance of Breaking Soul Ties

My goodness! This topic is tough. I first learned about soul ties in 2005 at the end of a bad relationship. I vowed I would never be caught up again. Are you laughing with me…because I’m laughing too!!! Yes, I thought I could control that. I learned the hard way that soul ties and entanglements come even after you say your guard is up. But that’s a story for another day…better yet a book for another season. Here’s what I experienced recently. In November I felt the Lord leading me to break a soul tie. Actually He had called me to break the tie for years. I was hardheaded and didn’t, but thank God for His grace. The minute I broke the tie God started moving instantly and miraculously. You’re reading this blog right now because God gave me my marching orders, and I could begin to write more freely with no more distractions. Not only that hearing Him more clearly came as a result of breaking the soul tie. This was all great for me until Friday when I shared with a friend what happened. She looked at me as if I was preaching her life. I know, Sis! I’ve been there. Knowing what you should do but struggling to actually WALK AWAY. Better yet struggling to RUN in the opposite direction of the soul tie. This is just the beginning of this incredible trajectory God has placed me on, and I see it so much more clearly by being 100% souled out for Him. And not him. If any of you are dealing with a soul tie, I will be praying for you and I’m asking you to pray. Sometimes you have to pray and cry and then pray and cry some more, but your spiritual life is suffering until that soul tie is broken. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
