In The Beginning

My pastor says that for some verses you have to quote the King James Version, and for me “For who hath despised the day of small things?” (Zechariah 4:10) is one of those verses. How excited am I to embark on this new journey of blogging about my life, about my spiritual journey, about everything? Very excited! I’m even happy to say that I don’t have any doubts at this moment about starting. But I do have a concern that right now it looks small. Who is this Angelina Taylor, and why should people care what she has to say? Well, how many authors have I read from my teens up until now? As an avid reader probably hundreds. I’m bummed that I started reading novels before the internet and before I could hunt down every book my favorite authors had written. I had to rely on the back of the book with the running list of titles. My love for reading started way back in the 1980s with Ed McBain, who would eventually write over 50 books in his 87th precinct series and 13 in his Matthew Hope series. I am a true fan, and I’m in awe that I can call myself an author in the company of great men like Ed McBain, Faye Kellerman, and Jonathan Kellerman. But we do have something in common. We all had to write that first book. Do I have over 60 books in me? I don’t know, but I do know I can’t let this small beginning intimidate nor stop me. Where’s your square one? Have you let the size of square one cause you to doubt? Start somewhere.
